Dependence through prayer and thanksgiving

Trusting in God’s plans (Proverbs 16:9, Proverbs 3:5-6)

As a church, we will depend on God by:

- Coming to Him in prayer, privately and corporately

- Having the word of God be the main source of life and practice

- Using words and actions that reflect Christ

- Continually stepping out in faith to accomplish only that which HE can do! (Continually doing the impossible through Christ)

- Rejoicing, always!

As individual members of The PIER, we will depend on God by:

- Holding each other accountable as students of God's word.

- Praying together for all things

- Beginning and ending meetings and fellowship in prayer

- Personally engage in weekly devotionals

Spread the gospel and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20, Mathew 9:37-38)

Bring the Good News of the gospel to everyone (Isaiah 52:7, Acts 1:8)

Spread the truth and light of the gospel (Matthew 5:14-16, John 1:8, Proverbs 12:17, Jeremiah 20:9)

Do not be afraid to share the gospel (Acts 18:9, Ephesians 6:19, Matthew 10:9,1 Peter 3:15-16)

As a Church, we will witness by:

- Talking about the Word of God with others

- Church growth through the Word of God

- Sharing testimonies with the Church body

As individual members of The PIER, we will foster witnessing by:

- Teaching others how to witness and share their testimonies.

- Mentoring one another

- Sharing testimonies in services

- Developing (intentional) witnessing opportunities

Leadership confronts sin in others (Matthew 18:15-20, 1 Corinthians 5:1-5, 2 Corinthians 2:5-11)

Biblical expectations of leadership found in: (1 Timothy 3, Titus 2, James 3:1, Ephesians 5:11, 2 Corinthians 2:14-18, Proverbs 6:16-19)

Leaders lead with a humble servant’s Heart (1 Peter 5:1-7, Philippians 2:5-11, John 13:14-17, Mark 10:43-45)

Leadership teaches, mentors, and instructs: helping the weak to grow (2 Timothy 2:2, 2 Timothy 4:2, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Proverbs 2:9, Romans 13:1-5, Romans 15:1-4)

Leadership submits, trusts, and obeys God (1 Samuel 15:22-23,1 John 2:3-6, James 1:22-25, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Psalm 125:1)

Leadership endures suffering and perseveres through God’s strength (Acts 9:15-16, Job 36:2, Romans 5:3-5, James 1:5, 1 Peter 1:6-9, Joshua 1:9)

As individual members of The PIER, we will foster leadership by:

- Sharing testimonies

- Awareness and use of individual’s gifts

- Encouraging others to step up and step out.

Reconciliation with God through Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Isaiah 61, Romans 5:10-11, John 3:17, Ephesians 2:12-16)

Reconciliation of sin through confession and repentance to God (Isaiah 1:18, 2 Corinthians 7:10-11, Matthew 4:17, Hosea 6:1-3, Psalm 32:5, Hebrews 12:5-13, Revelation 2:4-5)

Reconciliation with others through forgiveness and love (Matthew 5:23-24, 44, Matthew 6:14-15, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Matthew 18:15-17, Colossians 3:12-14, 1 John 4:19-21,1 Peter 4:7-8, 2 Peter 1:5-9, John 15:9-13, Jude 22)

As a Church, we will strive to engage in the ministry of reconciliation by:

- Leading people to salvation through Christ Jesus

- Praying for broken relationships to become restored

- Having the courage to confront sin

- Walking together in unity

- Having evidence of forgiveness

- Having conviction leading to action

- Matthew 18 Leadership

As individual members of The PIER, we will foster reconciliation by:

- Pointing to Christ as our ultimate reconciliation

- Praying (opposed to gossip)

- Giving of restoration

- Counseling and supporting others within the community

God created community (Genesis 1:26)

Community encourages and helps others (Hebrews 10:23-25, Philippians 1:3-8, Romans 15:1-3, Matthew 28:19-20)

Community is diverse and part of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-31)

Community shares and interacts with harmony (Acts 4:32, Acts 2:42, Psalm 133)

Follow the Biblical commandments concerning the community of Christ (Colossians 3:12-14, Romans 12:9-16, Romans 13:8-10)

As a Church, we will foster community by:

- Regularly join together as a Body of believers

- Living out authentic fellowship: we want to be with each other!

- Giving the freedom to share our hearts

- Being involved with each other’s lives

- Being connected and involved with neighboring community

- Encouraging relationships to move beyond the church building and gatherings.

As individual members of The PIER, we will encourage community by:

- Providing hospitality within the church and individual homes

- Reading scripture, eating, and praying together

- Engaging in face to face interaction

- Sharing life with one another, through time, physical needs or prayer
